To all Mark Master Masons and Royal Ark Mariners who access our Website or Facebook page over Christmas, I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a happy, peaceful, but most of all a safe and healthy New Year.
Our Annual Family Carol Service was held at Brighouse Central Methodist Church on 12th December and my thanks go to all those who helped to make the occasion such a success. Following our Virtual Service in 2020 it was good to be back at the Church, and I’m sure the 70 or so attending found it much more enjoyable than the Provincial Rulers and their Ladies singing carols for them on Zoom last year !
Following the lifting of many Covid restrictions in the last half of the year, we have been able to catch up on at least some of our backlog, including the Consecration of our new Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge and very successful Sesquicentenary Celebrations for Copley Mark Lodge and the Province itself.
Much more is planned to follow in 2022, including the Installation of V.W.Bro. John Vause as Assistant Prov.G.M. and several Lodge Centenaries. Sadly, we are now starting to see some restrictions being re-applied due to the latest stage of the pandemic, but we will move forward with all those plans as best we can during the coming year. We really do have a great deal to look forward to.
In the meantime, please continue to follow all the latest Government guidelines, be respectful of those who are not yet ready to return to our gatherings honouring their wishes, and do not under any circumstance try to coerce them into returning. Simply keep in regular touch with them.
Also please remember that the most common Covid Symptoms now appear to be a Headache and Sore Throat. You may only have a cold and have tested, but those around you will not know that and will feel uncomfortable. So to instil confidence in brethren who are attending our meetings, if you have any cold like symptoms please stay away until you get better. No one wants a second-hand cold anyway.
Finally, I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to V.W.Bro. Trevor Bolton, who will step down as Assistant Prov.G.M. in January. Trevor has given over 4 years of unstinting service to the Province and has been instrumental in implementing several major initiatives. He has served the Province well and I wish him every success for the future.
Joan and I really do look forward to sharing your company again during the coming year and we extend our very best wishes to you and your families over Christmas and throughout all of the Festive Season.
Keep safe, Mark Well and God Bless you all
